Leaving ISC2

I held the CISSP-ISSMP for 25 years before ISC2 denied my Emeritus application on the grounds that a part-time lecturer position constitutes active industry engagement.

The Emeritus program is intended for members who are no longer actively working in the profession. ISC2 determined that accepting a part-time adjunct teaching position at a state university disqualifies a member from Emeritus status, even when that position involves training the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

I let my membership lapse in April 2026.
